Cannes and its mythical Palais des Festivals

But what would Cannes be without the Palais des Festivals? And vice versa, you might ask?

If the two go hand in hand, you can’t come to Cannes without setting foot on one of the 24 most famous steps in the world! It has many other surprises in store.

A rich and eclectic cultural programme animates the place all year round and welcomes the public in its mythical setting.

It is also a major venue for professional meetings where the greatest challenges of tomorrow are decided, with the arrival of international events for over 60 years.

All roads lead to the

Palais des Festivals

Ideally located in the heart of the city, you can’t visit Cannes without seeing the Palais des Festivals!

At the junction of the Croisette and the Old Port, it stands out like a ship in the Cannes landscape.

Its view from the inside offers a breathtaking 360° panorama of the old town of The Suquet and the bay with its Lérins islands.

From the outside, one can admire its contemporary and uncluttered architecture. The mirror effect of the glass panels on the eastern facade offers an artistic perspective that photographers are sure to capture.

The ascent of the steps

But let’s face it, as we approach the Palais, what we want to see most of all are the famous steps. These famous 24 steps dressed in red carpet every year in May during the Cannes Film Festival.

If the stars hog them for a few days a year, the rest of the year they take a break for you.

So get your selfies!

And to complete the experience:

The Chemin des étoiles, a real “Walk of Fame” version of Cannes, exhibits 150 stars’ footprints all around the Palais.

What if you made your own footprint too?

Do you have any questions?
At the Palais des Festivals

one Festival can hide another!

Of course, the Palais des Festivals is first and foremost that of the Festival. Intimately linked for more than 75 years, the Palais and the Festival were born and grew up together.

But that’s not all, the Palais des Festivals thrills the public all year round to the sound of live shows and cultural events that bring together enthusiasts from all over the world.

Performing arts, live shows.

Theatre, concerts, comedy, circus… All the performing arts are performed at the Palais.
