Sleeping in the Fort's dormitories

on Sainte-Marguerite Island

Sleeping on Sainte-Marguerite’s island is possible!

From March to October, come and sleep in the former barracks of the Fort Royal, on weekends outside school holidays. Stay in this real haven of peace where all traffic is forbidden in the middle of 150 hectares of Aleppo pine, umbrella pine and Eucalyptus forest, bordered by crystal clear waters

Here, it’s an assured hostel atmosphere, the Cannes Jeunesse association sets up family packages including dinner, night in a private room and breakfast.

  • Exceptional location on the island
  • Atypical side of the accommodation
  • Proximity to the iron mask prison

Sleeping on the island of Saint-Honorat

Sleeping in the Notre Dame de Lérins abbey on the Saint-Honorat’s island is also possible!

The monastery founded by Saint-Honorat in the 5th century is still home to Cistercian monks who live on the 40 hectares of the island and lead a fraternal life of prayer and work.

The exceptional location of the site attracts many retreatants who come to share the monks’ prayer. The retreats are open to all, individually or in groups, and can range from a minimum of two nights to a maximum of one week. It is advisable to send any request for a stay in writing at least two months in advance to the Father Hotelier.

It is customary for guests to share in the life of the monastery by participating in certain daily tasks. There is no fixed price, the cost of the stay is left to the judgement of each person.

  • Atypical side of the accommodation
  • Spirituality of the place
