Visit Cannes differently

Atypical activities and unusual visits

Would you like to discover Cannes like a local, far from the clichés and off the beaten track? Visit Cannes with a greeter, a passionate local who will tell you about his favourite places and corners.

Would you like to discover the hidden facets of the city, its lesser-known districts, its more secluded places? Here are some ideas for unusual outings and activities that will give you a different experience of Cannes. We offer a selection that will take you on other, less expected, means of transport and give you a sense of perspective.

Visit Cannes with a greeter

Do you want to discover typical, non-touristy places that are appreciated by the locals? One of the ways to rediscover Cannes is to go for a walk with a greeter.

A greeter is a volunteer who shows you around his town or his good addresses, during a walk. In Cannes, there are about ten greeters who will show you around their favourite districts. According to your desires of discovery, your centres of interest, you can choose your stroll and your greeter. Sportsmen, gourmets, history buffs, these locals invite you to discover the city in a new way. They share with you their knowledge, their sensitivity to Cannes and their favourite places!

In small groups, with family or friends, it’s a human, fun and lively experience !

Take the high road

to discover Cannes in a different way

Discover the hidden parts of the city by bike

On a first visit, it is not uncommon to limit yourself to the city centre. We recommend a stroll through the hills of Cannes to discover small natural wonders with breathtaking views.

The Californie district, at the eastern end of the town, is a residential area dotted with luxurious villas and planted with mimosas and eucalyptus trees. It overlooks the bay of Cannes. The Siagne canal is a beautiful walk leading to the Belvédère, a breathtaking panorama from the Cap d’Antibes to the Esterel.

The Croix des Gardes district, located on the western hill of the town, offers another view of the town, just as impressive. With its 80-hectare natural forest park, it is the ideal spot for walkers and runners.

Treat yourself to a helicopter flight over Cannes

What better way to start or end a holiday than to get some height! Flying over the city in a helicopter gives a whole new dimension to the landscape. A few minutes flight over the Lérins islands will make you see all the colours (blue shades guaranteed!) and at a reasonable price.

Unusual means of transport

to visit Cannes

If for you, Cannes on foot, by bike, swimming… it’s déjà vu, then you will be delighted with these little ideas for unusual outings.

Get your paddle ready and discover the Lérins Islands in a different way

From the Mourre Rouge nautical base, rent a canoe and paddle at your own pace and in complete peace of mind, the 2 and a half kilometres that separate you from Sainte-Marguerite Island. A completely free ride in the crystal clear waters of the bay of Cannes, for a completely different view of the Lérins Islands.

When visiting Cannes this summer, book your evening walk and aperitif on Sainte-Marguerite Island with Cannes Jeunesse. On the programme: sailing, swimming and an aperitif at sunset to enjoy a convivial evening in connection with the natural elements.

Get on a gyropod to visit Cannes

Treat yourself to an original, safe and fun ride that you won’t soon forget! Cannes Visitour offers you a tour of the city on a gyropod, this new generation of electric urban transport.

Several itineraries are proposed from the Suquet district to the Croisette point, passing by the old port, the narrow streets of the city, the Provencal market, the Chemin des étoiles, the Palais des Festivals, the painted walls, the mythical grand hotels, the luxury boutiques… A good formula between fun activity, discovery and panoramic views.
