Le Suquet This hill overlooking Cannes is in a way the soul of the city. This is where it all began, when Cannes was just a village. Today, you can wander through the cobbled streets with delight. The bougainvilleas in bloom on sunny days, the small courtyards that follow one another are as many plunges into the Cannes of yesteryear. At the top, La Castre reveals its most beautiful panorama of the town and the surrounding countryside.
It is here, too, that history is told through the Church of Notre-Dame d’Espérance, built in 1627, and the old castle which has become the Museum of World Explorations, with its square tower. A beautiful route to explore on foot or on board the little tourist train.
