Where to spend your early evening in Cannes?

During the aperitif hours, to spend your early evening in Cannes, many districts come alive. From the fine sandy beaches to the historic district of the Suquet and the famous carré d’Or, there are a multitude of places to sip a drink after the beach, to whet your appetite before going out to dinner or to enjoy the evening.

Rooftops, wine bars
or party bars

With friends, as a couple or as a family, depending on what you want to do, you can spend your early evening in Cannes with your feet in the sand, your head in the stars or simply on the side of a cobbled street in one of the historic districts.

Rooftops

If you want to enjoy a cocktail with a view, take to the skies at the rooftops of hotels and palaces. Like the Roof, perched on the roof of the Five Hotel, where, with your eyes in the blue of the pool, you can sip one of the precious nectars with a unique fragrance. Accompany this enchanted evening with small dishes to share, such as the famous briozza, a tapas hybrid between brioche and pizza.

Wine bars

Lovers of authentic moments will be able to enjoy a drink in one of the best wine bars in Cannes, on the Suquet side, rue Meynadier or rue Marceau. Like the very authentic “le bar à Vin” whose wooded decoration revives the conviviality of this place and warms the taste buds with its wine treasures.

Festive bars

Finally, for a convivial evening, enjoy the unique atmosphere of the festive bars, jewels of the Cannois art of living, which stretch from the edge of the Croisette to the heart of the city and the old port. Take a break, for example, on the rue des frères Pradignac, in the belle époque, where in an elegant, green setting, contemporary cocktails are enjoyed in an atmosphere that becomes more and more electrifying as the evening progresses.

The most lively districts

for an early evening in Cannes

The Carré d’Or

the festive aperitif

Just a stone’s throw from the Croisette, from the rue des frères Pradignac to the rue Victor Cousin, this pedestrian area offers a plethora of festive bars to have a drink on the terrace. Exotic atmosphere, aperitif and cocktail bars, a multitude of themes for all tastes!

The address to discover: the Dandy, which in a contemporary setting, offers a gastronomic version of the aperitif dinner, thanks to its high-flying food and cocktail combinations!

The Croisette

Toast with the sunset

As soon as the weather is fine, the beaches of the Croisette are the perfect place to spend the early evening in Cannes. Settled on a deckchair, lulled by the music and the sound of the waves, capture precious moments over a drink and facing the bay of Cannes.

Amongst the string of beaches on the Croisette, the Majestic beach has a festive concept, the sound aperitif. Perfect for a gentle atmosphere before going to dinner on the pontoon and dreaming a little more, thanks to the BFire restaurant of the world’s best chef, Mauro Colagreco.

Rue Félix Faure

to quench your thirst after shopping

In the extension of the rue d’Antibes, the rue Félix Faure is lined with gourmet addresses and brasseries to quench your thirst during the day as well as at aperitif time. Stroll along this now pedestrianised street and venture to the alleys where, once again, you can have a drink with friends before going to dinner.

The Quai Saint Pierre

an international atmosphere

Go to the international bars that face the old riggings and yachts on the Quai Saint-Pierre for an overexcited atmosphere on the evenings when sports events are being broadcast. In the old port, between the typical restaurants and mythical addresses, there is a real melting pot of bars to have a drink and immerse yourself in a cosmopolitan universe! The most emblematic is Quay’s, an Irish bar that is now a must for sipping a pint and exchanging a few words in English with your neighbour.

The Suquet

the authenticity of a district

On the side of a steep, cobbled street, the terraces line rue Saint-Antoine in the heart of the picturesque Suquet district, the oldest in Cannes. A resolutely authentic charm to spend your early evening in Cannes. Don’t leave without climbing the steps leading up to the Place de la Castre to discover a magical view of the Palais des Festivals, the port and the Lérins islands!

The address not to be missed: Charly’s Bar. From a pretty vaulted cellar at its creation, the emblematic Charly’s bar now spreads out on either side of the alley with 2 distinct establishments. One is dedicated to wine, the other one is animated until late, but both allow you to taste the inimitable art of living à la Cannes, as soon as you sit on the terrace.

The Grand Large area at Port Canto

Sipping a cocktail overlooking the sea

At the very end of the Croisette, facing the Lérins Islands, is Port Pierre Canto and its recently renovated Grand Large area. With its small gardens, fountains and palm trees, it’s an inviting place to take the time to contemplate this exceptional setting. It’s easy to get carried away by the hushed atmosphere of the famous Harry’s Bar, where you can enjoy a Bloody Mary or a Blue Lagoon, two famous cocktails invented by this famous house.

At work behind the bar of this cocktail institution is Meilleur Ouvrier de France, David Palanque, who brilliantly mixes his creations with iconic cocktails such as the Hemingway Special, the Cuba Libre and the Rosa Paloma.
