Equally at home in a series of technical variations, in the seemingly haphazard patchwork of an Argentinian-style ‘razzia surprise’, or in the precision of a post-modern gesture, the CCN - Ballet de Lorraine is marvellous.
The CCN-Ballet de Lorraine, newly directed by Maud Le Pladec, offers an opportunity to admire the plasticity of a troupe at the cutting edge of creative exploration. On the program: The Fugue, in 20 variations, on J.S. Bach's L'Offrande musicale; Malón, a piece conveying joy and pleasure to be shared; and Works, created on Beethoven's 7th Symphony, reflects the inventiveness of the woman who choreographed the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
