The city of Cannes will host the French Psychiatry Congress (CFP) for the first time – the 17th edition – at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès from Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13 December 2025.
The theme chosen for this first edition in Cannes is ‘Light’, paying tribute to the many nuances and works created by artists under the sun of the French Riviera, a nod to the Film Festival but above all to promote knowledge, actors and actresses in psychiatry and mental health, a major national cause in 2025.
Every year, the French Congress of Psychiatry brings together some 4,500 participants from 140 learned societies and partner associations that animate the scientific life of the discipline and structure the progress of clinical practice and research in its many fields.
Organised since 2009 on the initiative of a group of national experts by a team that is autonomous and independent of industry and political institutions, the French Congress of Psychiatry is run by a national office bringing together the main representatives of public, institutional and private psychiatric practice, combining all the components of scientific interest and theoretical reference in French psychiatry.
Since 2021, the CFP has been offered in a ‘PhyGital’ version: Phy for Physical in person, Gital for Digital remotely, live and on demand. The e-CFP2025 will be available on demand until 28 March 2026.
From 10 to 13 December 2025, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès will host a rich programme:
- 6 plenary conferences
- 27 thematic sessions,
- 17 meetings with the Expert,
- 5 Clinical Practice Sharing sessions
- 12 debates
The CFP also offers three specific programmes:
the 8th Nursing and Paramedical Research Day (JSIRP),
the 8th Support and Medical-Social Action Day (JACC)
and the 10th Elderly Psychiatry Days (JPPA).
A Young Psychiatrists Programme
Enriching knowledge, supporting research, promoting knowledge sharing and highlighting young people have been part of the CFP's mission since its creation.
The Young Psychiatrists Committee offers a tailor-made programme of discussions and practical workshops reserved for young psychiatrists.
Practitioners who wish to do so can benefit from expert support for Continuing Medical Education initiatives and access to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provisions.
