Creation 2022 in homage to Nino Rota
Two excellent artistic structures, intimately linked to the city of Cannes, join forces to offer this special evening in homage to Nino Rota, the famous Italian composer whose work is forever linked to some of the most emblematic films of the 7th art. For Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Henri Verneuil and many others. And it was for Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather that he received the Oscar for best film score! A dance evening with a special flavour, as Renato Zanella, a former graduate of the Pôle National Supérieur de Danse Rosella Hightower, will choreograph for the Jeune Ballet troupe. A successful choreographer for many renowned companies, he has directed several major international ballets since 1995 and returns to Cannes to present a creation with an ambitious purpose, between choreographic performance and artistic research for dancers at the dawn of their professional careers. As Renato Zanella points out: "Approaching the work of Nino Rota is a moment of great emotion and memory. How can dance approach this? Two voiceless arts that meet, to create new emotions. To take flight among his notes, that's what we're going to do, on tiptoe without adding a sound to create a new interpretation, I would say to have the impression of being taken by the hand by the great composer. Meeting with the artistic team after the performance.
Lidija BIZJAK
Born in 1976 in Belgrade, Lidija Bizjak studied at the CNSM in Paris with Jacques Rouvier and Maurice Bourgue and then went on to perfect her skills with Ferenc Rados, Murray Perahia, Léon Fleisher and Arie Vardi. His first CD dedicated to the sonatas of Schubert and Schumann, released in 2006 by Lyrinx, was acclaimed by the critics and awarded a Diapason d'or "découverte".
After several years at the CRR of Caen and the CRR of Lille, Lidija currently teaches at the Conservatoire of the 18th arrondissement of Paris and is the artistic director of the SOMUS festival in Sombor, which has become one of the most influential in the region.
"Lidija Bizjak's piano sounds with a royal fullness, without harshness, with a length of tone that says enough about how careful this young artist is not to go against her instrument, and even more about how much she is in love with it at least as much as with the music she plays..." Alain Lompech (Diapason)
