On the 400th anniversary of his birth, the play brilliantly demonstrates the author's inimitable talent for cultivating farce and underlining the ridiculousness of the obsessive characters he ferociously mocks in a work that is a universal critique of the failings of his time. The play is a real family and human adventure: Francis Perrin, a resident emeritus of the Comédie-Française, directs a very contemporary production that combines the singular comedy of a play with many twists and turns with a modern reflection on the emancipation of women. He plays Arnolphe, accompanied by his wife, his daughter and especially his autistic son Louis. And one can only be deeply touched by the emotion of seeing these actors radiating complicity and pleasure in acting!
